Healthy Hoosiers Initiative Student Scholars Program
Healthy Hoosiers Initiative HHI partnered with local schools to create our Student Scholars Program. The goal of the program was to incorporate mentorship into the lives of students who come from socioeconomically disadvantaged families. At the beginning of the 2024 school year we provided additional supplies feminine hygiene products extra clothes etc. to the schools nurses offices. Additionally we have recruited volunteers to mentor our students in various areas of their lives. Our goal is to help students prepare for life after high school whether thats college trade school or going right into the workforce. Through our volunteers and mentors we want to help students achieve their full potential. The current grant and donor cycle runs through the end of the 2025 school year.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$1.8KMental Health Awareness Lunch Event

In fall of 2023 we were approached by one the school nurses at a local school we were working with at the time. She noticed an issue that was negatively affecting many children and families in the community: bed bugs. She reached out to several places to help the low-income families remediate their situations but she found no meaningful relief not even from the health department. She asked if we would be interested in partnering with her to help these families in the community. To date HHI has helped 4 families eradicate their bed bugs. There is a waitlist of families because we dont currently have the financial or personnel resources to dedicate paid employees to help our community organizer.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$12.5K
