Methadone Reform Initiatives
We continued our methadone reform policy work by launching a podcast on the issue, Naturally Noncompliant, and co-planning a successful 200 person plus methadone reform conference with the National Coalition to Liberate Methadone, a coalition of people with lived experience of methadone treatment, clinicians, and researchers. We continued and expanded our research partnerships, including submitting grant proposals in our ongoing collaboration with the COVID-19 and Substance Use Data Collaborative as well as becoming a sentinel site for the National Drug Early Warning System. We sponsored attendance by a large contingent of NSU members to the International Drug Policy Reform Conference in 2023 in Phoenix and presented at a variety of sessions.
