As a result of the 2020 Pandemic Crisis The African American Cultural Festival of Raleigh and Wake County made a decision to execute a virtual festival. The Virtual Experience consisted of programming for both children and adults featuring local artists educational panels and cultural performances. The virtual format allowed us to thrive in a pandemic and find unique ways to continue to achieve our goal of sharing celebrating and educating our vast audience on African American culture. Organized, planned and executed a two day free cultural festival in Raleigh, NC attended by approximately fifty thousand people. The purpose is to create, educate and provide a sense of pride, empowerment and community among attendees. The event encourages community involvement and volunteerism engaging over two-hundered volunteers working in partnership with the staff and event organizers.
