HAZARDOUS FUELS PROGRAM This program provides homeowner with cost-share assistance for fuels reduction projects, prevention and mitigation materials regarding wildfire fire. Tallies thus far 50 home assessments performed 30 projects implemented 382 acres treated 165,000 in financial assistance for landowners, plus 210,000 in landowner program matches. COOPERATIVE WEED CONTROL PROGRAMS SMALL AND LARGE ACREAGE, both programs target noxious weeds. A decade after it began, SVWCs SMALL ACREAGE Cooperative Weed Control Program has treated over 1300 acres from Nye to Columbus Montana. This program is intended for landowners with LESS than 20 acres. Tallies thus far 12,360 acres enrolled 279,900 invested for noxious weed control 114,235 landowner cost-share paid out by SVWC Over 2,400 commercial applicator hours. In 2020 SVWC provided 1289 in cost-share grants. Since 2006 the LARGE ACREAGE Cooperative Weed Control Program has treated of 6,900 acres. This program is geared toward landowners with MORE than 20 acres. Tallies thus far 125,000 in Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation grants 193,000 acres enrolled 257,662 in landowner weed control investments 125,000 landowner cost-share paid out by SVWC. WILDLIFE HABITAT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM WHIP GRANT With the help of adjacent landowner matches and US Forest Service USFS personnel, 1688 acres of noxious weeds were treated in 2020. Of those, 173 acres were treated on USFS backcountry grazing allotments, equating to over 17,000.
