Program 1 [2020]
WELLNESS HOUSE IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT DEVELOPS AND MAINTAINS SUPPORT GROUPS AND SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS DIAGNOSED WITH LIFE CHANGING ILLNESSES SUCH AS CANCER, HEPATITIS C AND FIBROMYALGIA. IN 2020 WELLNESS HOUSE PROVIDED SERVICES TO APPROXIMATELY 10,856 CONTACTS.AS A RESULT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WELLNESS HOUSE SAW A DRAMATIC CHANGE IN THE WAY THAT WE PROVIDED SERVICES TO OUR CURRENT AND NEW CLIENT BASE, AS WELL AS HOW OUR PROGRAMS WERE FUNDED. CLIENTS WHO HISTORICALLY UTILIZED WELLNESS HOUSE FOR SUPPORT GROUPS, CANCER SERVICES, COUNSELING AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES WERE TRANSITIONED TO PHONE SUPPORT, ZOOM MEETINGS, ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION AND DELIVERIES TO HOMES. THIS HAD AN IMPACT ON THE NUMBER OF CLIENTS WE WERE ABLE TO SERVE, THE INABILITY TO ACCESS POTENTIAL NEW CLIENTS AND THE LEVEL OF COMMUNITY SUPPORT AVAILABLE TO PATIENTS, AS WELL AS THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$188.6KCancer Support Services

Underserved Communities: For over two decades, Wellness House has focused on addressing the high incidence of chronic disease in Yakima County, particularly among marginalized populations such as Yakama Natives and monolingual-speaking clients. Our needs assessment revealed that many Spanish-speaking cancer patients were unaware of their cancer staging, care plan, and prognosis. To promote healthy equity, a core value of our work is to aim to educate, support and outreach to this underserved population.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––
