  • Public Parks Improvement Initiatives

    Program service accomplishments consist of expenditures to improve and enhance public parks, as well as create equity and accessibility for all community members. The beneficiaries of our efforts are the citizens of Spokane and Spokane County, as well as visitors to our region. The objectives of our grants are to fund community driven initiatives and outdoor programs that enhance public parks, support educational and recreational activities, and create equity and accessibility. Grants made during 2023 included the continued support for the development of Riverfront Park, scholarships for parks and recreation programs in Spokane and Spokane Valley, park projects in Spokane and Cheney, funding for community pools in Spokane, Spokane Valley, (Continued on Schedule O)Cheney and Airway Heights, and awards for park related programs that included Police Activities Leagues, the Spokane Eastside Reunion Association, Northeast Youth Center, GLOW Children Early Learning Center, COPS Mounted Patrol, Jess Roskelly Foundation, and Peak 7 Adventures.
