    In calendar year 2024 (October), two students were awarded research grants funded by Interface Health Foundation (IHF). The following milestones are tracked as the student progresses to finishing their final research paper: 1) Submission of research outline, 2) Submission of first draft, and 3) Submission of final paper. The grant payments are made in segments as the student finishes the required project milestones. The payment for each milestone is 5%, 45% and 50% of the total grant payment, respectively. In calendar year 2024, one of the student grantees finished her outline and therefore was awarded the outline milestone payment. This particular student is researching the following topic: Pricing transparency in healthcare. The other 2024 grantee is in the process of researching the following topic: The impact of inpatient, acute care nursing ratio legislation in various states. It is expected that both of these 2024 student grantees' full research papers will be completed in 2025. The grantees' research projects are in alignment with IHF's mission: to empower and support student-led research endeavors that shed light on critical healthcare policy and structural issues affecting the public. Through our initiatives, we seek to foster a deeper understanding of the complex dynamics shaping the healthcare landscape.
