Prison Education Classes
NDEP offered a total of ten classes in summer 2024, fall 2024, winter 2025 and spring 2025 with a total of 58 students. These classes were English Composition, Physical Geology, Historical Geology, Speech, Film Studies, Survey of American Literature, Music Appreciation, Managerial Accounting, Business Law and Health and Fitness. Some were offered via on line instruction, some had an in person instructor and some were a hybrid. All students were successful in the courses they had taken. We had one student earn his AA degree which is quite an accomplishment taking one course a quarter. Several other students have nearly completed their AA degree requirements, requiring just two or three courses. One of the difficulties is finding qualified instructors who have the time and are willing to teach in the prison environment. Math is one of those subjects. Treasure Valley Community College has been very good to work with and have been finding instructors and should have a math instructor by this winter or spring term.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2024 – Jun 30, 2025Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$31.8K
