  • Cultural Exchange Farewell Banquet

    A farewell banquet for visitors from Mellerud, Sweden, and the Scandia Sister city council members to share stories, build relationships, and learn from each other. We served food from an American Thanksgiving to show our visitors how we celebrate this American holiday. Included was a tour of a local winery, Rustic Roots.

  • Sister City Charter Anniversary Celebration

    Anniversary Celebration of the signing of the sister city Charter between Scandia, Minnesota and Mellerud, Sweden. Apporximately 200 people attended in Scandia. We were on Zoom with Sweden and had a local choir and the sixth grade class from Scandia Elementary sing as part of our entertainment. We served a FIKA featuring Swedish food.

  • Cultural Exchange Tour and Parade

    Hosted ten visitors from Mellerud, Sweden to tour Scandia, MN and the surrounding area. We hosted them in our homes, drove them around for sightseeing and visited historical sites around Scandia. They were also featured in the Scandia Taco Daze parade where they threw candy to the kids. Approximately 1,000 people attended the parade.
