IN 2024, THE PRIMARY GOAL OF THE CC LAB'S RESEARCH AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM WAS ADVANCING THE SCIENTIFIC, TECHNICAL, LOGISTICAL, AND ECONOMIC UNDERSTANDING OF CARBON CONTAINMENT SOLUTIONS AND THEIR EFFECTIVENESS. HIGHLY POTENT GREENHOUSE GASES (GHGS) WITH SHORT ATMOSPHERIC LIFETIMES, SUCH AS METHANE AND HYDROFLUOROCARBON REFRIGERANTS (HFCS), AND GEOLOGIC AND WOOD CARBON CONTAINMENT WERE PARTICULAR FOCUSES. THE LAB DISSEMINATED FINDINGS TO THE PUBLIC BY PUBLISHING IN PEER-REVIEWED ACADEMIC PUBLICATIONS, PUBLISHING REPORTS AND WHITEPAPERS, MAKING CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS, AND VIA NUMEROUS WEBINARS. THE CC LAB ALSO RAN SEVERAL WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS THAT CONVENED STAKEHOLDERS RELEVANT TO ADVANCING THE PROGRAMMATIC MISSION OF FOSTERING INNOVATIVE CLIMATE SOLUTIONS. THE CC LAB ALSO TAUGHT, MENTORED, AND EDUCATED UNIVERSITY STUDENTS THROUGH ITS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM, AS WELL AS VIA ONLINE WEBINARS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAININGS, AND SUPPORTED UNIVERSITY RESEARCH ON SUPER POLLUTANT MITIGATION TECHNOLOGY. ALL THIS AIDED IN THE LAB'S MISSION TO FOSTER INNOVATIVE CLIMATE SOLUTIONS THAT SERVE TO PROTECT THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT, CREATE JOBS, PROTECT HUMAN HEALTH, AND LESSEN THE BURDEN ON GOVERNMENT.
