Youth Community Service Programs: Community Service Programs--Stiles Hall places 400 mentors and elderly companions annually. Building on over 70 years of experience, 25 extremely diverse, mostly low-income student employees recruit, train and supervise these U.C. Berkeley students who volunteer 75 to 100 hours each. Guidance & Counseling Programs: Berkeley Scholars to Cal-Nine year comprehensive academic, social and parent support project whose goal is to enable 70 educationally disadvantaged students to enter a top-tier university. Summer and Saturday academics, one-to-one mentors, and regular home visits have put 80% of the students on a solid college preparatory track.
