    The purpose of the Modesto Junior College Foundation is to provide financial resources not provided via state funding to the college's educational and student support programs. Through a variety of annual fundraising efforts including events, direct mail fundraising, major gift fundraising and planned giving solicitations, the Foundation generates funds in support of student scholarships and emergency grants, instructional equipment, facility improvements, and the endowment. These efforts support the mission of the MJC Foundation: The MJC Foundation inspires community engagement and financial support to enhance the student experience, and strengthen the quality of education at Modesto Junior College. Approximately 30 program/professional development grants were awarded in 2017-2018 and the MJC Foundation awarded or distributed more than 600 scholarships to MJC students from Foundation and community partner sources.
