Cat Adoption and Care Program
Kittens and adult cats are taken from the Amador County Shelter spay neutered provided medical care and vaccinations and fostered as needed. They are then adopted to loving homes for a nominal fee In 2022 628 kittens and cats went thru the program and were adopted. Feral cats are taken from the county shelter and from individual colonies spay neutered given rabies vaccinations medical care as needed and allowed then released back into their colonies or adopted out to a barn type home where they will be provided shelter food and water. In 2022 215 cats benefited from this program.. Due to budget restraints of our county shelter A-PAL covers medical costs for heart worm treatment and other medical expenses for Shelter animals in order to get them adopted. In 2022 we provided medical treatment for 65 shelter cats and dog and low income pets.
