The Environmental Living Program (ELP) is the beloved "Sutter's Fort Overnight" that has lent its magic to the Fort since 1976. This is a special program that allows children to "live" history. Available to school and home school groups, the students, along with their teacher and trained parent helpers, spend 24 hours portraying characters of 1840's California and partake in the various trades, activities, and entertainment of the era.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––Program 3 [2020]
Each October "The Sutter's Fort Trapper's Camp" program (formerly River Trip) brings California history to life for one week in the city of Red Bluff, CA and one week in the town of Colusa, CA. During the Living History program, students and their classmates are transported back in time to an 1840's fur trapping camp along the Sacramento River. The class experiences four interpretive stations that make up the complex operations of the "Trapper's Camp". This program allows children to reenact the pioneer life in California before the Gold Rush.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––
