    AVA is an organization that provides assistance to asbestos victims and their families. We offer a help line daily 365 days a week. Callers may reach us to find out about matters related to health, social service connections and referrals to helping organizations. There is no cost for this service We have three volunteers able to answers calls. This past year we have accomplished these goals and assisted 1,825 people. WE still make the animal human connection when possible connecting those ill with Asbestos disease with emotional support animals. To accomplish these goals, we work with agencies in the area of the family to make the closest connection. Psycho-social aspects of asbestos related disease are complex. AVA does what we can to address a variety of concerns of the public.

  • Program 2 [2018]

    The Rabbit Haven Project: rescues injured and abandoned rabbits and accepts surrendered rabbits from the general public or the SPCA in Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Benito, and Monterey Counties. We then work to place these rescued rabbits into loving permanent or foster homes. During fiscal yr 22-23 AVA offered help desk and referral services M-F 11Am to 9PMConnected persons with Asbestos disease to attorneys, doctors and medical caregivers Connected with social services as need be. Animals support service connection- On line and phone support services - All volunteer program- Updated volunteer staffing program to better meet the needs of callers. Updated attorney listing and medical support information sections.
