Education of Clergy on Pro-Life Issues
Education of Clergy -In 2022 Priests for Life remained in the forefront of being physically present at pro-life conferences prayer vigils rallies Churches and schools as our pastoral team responded to invitations from pro-life groups large and small. We serve pro-life groups and dioceses without charge for our services or materials. Fr. Frank Pavone Fr. Denis Wilde Janet Morana Alveda King Theresa and Kevin Burke and Bryan Kemper were among those traveling and speaking nationwide to continue to educate and equip priests deacons and seminarians to effectively proclaim the pro-life message. International Outreach - Priests for Life PFL continued throughout the year to enhance its international presence through increased participation in various fora provided by the United Nations the Organization for American States and Catholic Inspired NGOs. We expanded our outreach to a growing number of international prolife coalitions and collaborators in over 97 countries and helped make an impact in ending abortion around the world. PFL is in their 19th year defending unborn children and mothers as a Non-Governmental Organization NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council ECOSOC of the United Nations UN. We participated in meetings at the United Nations and collaborated with numerous pro-family NGOs to foster international policies protecting the dignity of human life at all stages. PFL participated virtually and in person in critical conferences in New York including the 60th Session of the Commission on Social Development in February the 66th Session of the Commission of the Status of Women in March and the 55th Session of the Commission on Population and Development in April. In May PFL participated in The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and in October we participated virtually at the OAS 52nd Regular Session of the General Assembly hosted by Peru. Media - In addition to our own broadcasting and our EWTN programs our pastoral team conducted numerous interviews for the national Christian conservative and secular print radio television and online media. Throughout the year Priests for Life team members continued to write opinion pieces that were published regularly by outlets like Newsmax Breitbart LifeNews.com Washington Examiner Town Hall National Catholic Register Catholic Online and many others. In 2022 the Priests for Life team wrote 58 op-eds which was an increase of 6 from 2021. Several radio interviews were on Point of View American Family Radio EWTN Radio Ave Maria Radio and The Catholic Channel on SIRIUS XM. We were present on various television networks including FOX News Newsmax Catholic Faith Network Christian Broadcasting and One America News. The media exposure of Priests for Life increased exponentially following the laicization of Fr.
