Challenge Day provides youth and their communities with experiential workshops and programs that improve school and community climate, positively influence student achievement, strengthen cross cultural connections, and reduce conflict and bullying. Challenge Day has been featured on the Oprah TV show, in a Tom Brokaw 2010 documentary Bridging the Divide, and in a 12-episode MTV series titled If You Really Knew Me.In 2017-18, Challenge Day served more than 97,000 participants in 500 schools and organizations. Since 1987, we have presented the program to more than 1 million teenagers in 2,200 schools. Challenge Day also provides community workshops for adults, team-building programs for workplaces, and keynotes and conference sessions.Challenge Day has been serving teens in schools around the world since 1987 when the program was created by founders Yvonne and Rich Dutra-St. John. The organization serves teens from every gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious background, and socioeconomic level. During this fiscal year, the Challenge Day Fund proudly supported seventeen programs delivered by Toward the Real, LLC dba Challenge Day. These impactful programs reached eleven schools across the United States, positively influencing the lives of more than 2,500 teenagers.Challenge Day programs are immersive, experiential workshops designed to transform school and community climates. Through engaging and emotionally resonant activities, these programs aim to: Foster empathy and cross-cultural understanding, Strengthen peer and adult relationships, Reduce bullying and social isolation, and Positively influence student achievement and overall well-being.Challenge Day's innovative approach has received national recognition. The program has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, spotlighted in Tom Brokaws 2010 documentary Bridging the Divide, and served as the foundation for the MTV reality series If You Really Knew Me, which aired for 12 episodes.Since its inception in 1987 by founders Yvonne and Rich Dutra-St. John, Challenge Day has reached over one million students in more than 2,200 schools worldwide. The program serves youth across all gender identities, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, religious backgrounds, and socioeconomic levels.
