Haynes Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program delivered short-term intensive treatment practices, intervention and continuum of care services to 103 male teens. In addition to a nurturing home and supportive services, the program focuses on sustained reunification with family or placement in a foster family. Youth in the program are under the jurisdiction of the County of Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services.Emergency Shelter Care provided 24-hour intake services and temporary emergency residential shelter care for 129 boys ages 7-12 years old for up to 30 days, but longer if no suitable foster family was available. These children were homeless, abused, abandoned, neglected or victims of a severe family conflict. Within the program children lived free from harm in a nurturing home. Haynes Education Center includes Bliss Academy, School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities and Renaissance Community Prep, School for Behavior and Learning Diversity. During the 2017-2018 fiscal year, 309 boys and girls attended the state certified K-12 non-public schools. Students received educational, behavioral and therapeutic services. The special education program for youth ages 5 to 22 provides specialized instruction tracks leading to high school completion and college entrance for boys in residence and youth in the community. S.T.A.R. Academy is a state approved non-public agency that offers educational specialists providing services in the home or school and supporting individualized education program meetings.
