    Orthotic Services - The Orthotic Department at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center fabricates orthoses (braces) for individuals seen in the various rehabilitation clinics of Rancho. The mission of the Orthotic Department is to provide "state of the art" orthoses to the clients of Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center and to improve the "state of the art" devices through education, advances in design and improvement in materials and fabrication techniques. The Orthotic Department provides patients with orthoses on a daily basis.

Asterias AST-OPC1 - $106,905 - Long-term follow-up study of subjects with cervical spinal cord injuries who received AST-OPC1. E-Fit Trial - $342,380 To determine the therapeutic effects of navigation guided 1Hz RTMS administered to the contralesional hemisphere as adjuvant task-oriented rehabilitation in patients with ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke.     SCI Model System - The purpose of this project is to evaluate the effectiveness of two prevention programs for preserving shoulder function after spinal cord injury, a home-based shoulder exercise program combined with instructions to modify movement technique for upper extremity activities or an enhanced-interaction version with more direct contact, for exercise instruction and education.
