Housing Support for Visually Impaired
McCulloch Property: As of the end of 2022 all 8 units are rented to the blind or visually impaired. During 2022 we have put new roofs on the remaining 6 units that we didn't do in 2021. We also upgraded the windows for all 8 units and finished the remodel of 5650 and 5644 1 2. Prospect Property: At year end the decision was made to sell this property. The property was owned free and clear by John Milton Manor Corp so a gain on the sale was made of $672,280 which will be used to do needed major repairs on the remaining 2 properties at McCulloch Ave in Temple City CA and Colorado Blvd. in Monrovia CA. There were simply too many major repairs that were needed at this property it was too much of a losing situation for our small organization. Colorado Property: This property received all new windows and new roofing on the front portion of the building. The rest of the roofing will be completed in 2023. All 3 units were fully rented throughout 2022 by blind or visually impaired individuals. Plans are in the works to build an additional unit at this property to allow us to recoup some of the income lost by selling the Prospect property.
