The RBACs world-class aquatics facilities are open year-round and provide aquatics, physical therapy, and water safety programs to children, youths, adults, and seniors so that all generations can benefit from regular exercise, sports and fitness training, and competitive events. The RBAC strives to be one of the safest, well-maintained, and welcoming facilities in the country.The RBAC endeavors to fulfill its public benefit status by providing free swim lessons to all third-grade students in the Pasadena Unified School District, to help ensure that every child can operate safely in water. Students attend 15 lessons and receive free swim suits, water safety workbooks, and towel service. The RBAC also provides need-based financial assistance to the Pasadena community of up to 50% of the listed cost of its swim, dive, water polo, adaptive, fitness, therapy, and other programs. In the spring of 2020, the Center provided lessons to 290 students. Starting in March, the program was suspended for the remainder of the year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.The COVID-19 pandemic severely impacted the Centers operations in 2020. The Center was closed from March 15, to June 29 and experienced significantly reduced capacity from July to December. The RBAC is a world-class aquatics facility dedicated to helping all members of our diverse communities invest in their health and wellness by providing exemplary aquatic educational, competitive, therapeutic, and recreational programs. The RBACs facilities include two Olympic-sized pools, a therapy pool, a weight room, a conference room, locker rooms, a caf, and an aquatics merchandise shop. It hosts world-class swim, dive, and water polo teams and a wide variety of programs, including water aerobics, warm water exercise, lap swimming, learn-to-swim lessons, and land-based fitness classes such as yoga.The RBAC also provides need-based financial assistance to residents of Pasadena and surrounding communities. Participants receive up to 50% of the listed cost of programs such as swim lessons, adaptive swim lessons, lap swimming, water and dryland fitness classes, and our competitive teams (swim, masters swim, water polo, and diving). The RBAC endeavors to further fulfill its public benefit responsibilities through our Water Safety Program. This program provides every third-grade student in Pasadena Unified School District, including students with special needs, access to water safety instruction (i.e., swim lessons).
