Domestic Violence Prevention and Support
Hale Santuwaryo is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to domestic violence prevention, education, and support within the Filipino community in Hawaii. During the 2024 tax year, the organization focused on program development, community engagement, and foundational outreach activities aimed at increasing awareness of intimate partner violence and reducing cultural and linguistic barriers to accessing support services. Key activities included planning and development of culturally responsive educational programming for healthcare workers and community members, with emphasis on trauma-informed care, culturally specific risk factors, and best practices when supporting survivors of domestic violence. The organization engaged in collaboration and relationship-building with local community leaders, healthcare professionals, and advocacy groups to inform curriculum design and ensure programs are responsive to community needs. Hale Santuwaryo also conducted outreach efforts to raise awareness of domestic violence resources, particularly for Filipino individuals and families who may experience language, cultural, or immigration-related barriers to seeking help. All activities during the year were carried out by volunteers. No direct grants or financial assistance were provided to individuals or organizations during this tax year. Program-related expenses were limited and primarily related to planning, educational materials, and administrative support necessary to establish the organization's charitable programs.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$0
