  • Domestic Violence Prevention and Support

    Hale Santuwaryo is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to domestic violence prevention, education, and support within the Filipino community in Hawaii. During the 2024 tax year, the organization focused on program development, community engagement, and foundational outreach activities aimed at increasing awareness of intimate partner violence and reducing cultural and linguistic barriers to accessing support services. Key activities included planning and development of culturally responsive educational programming for healthcare workers and community members, with emphasis on trauma-informed care, culturally specific risk factors, and best practices when supporting survivors of domestic violence.
