  • Photojournalism Archive Development

    This was our first year as a nonprofit project. It was a development year and as such we worked on getting the project clearly defined, acquiring and implementing the systems to create and support the archive, creating the necessarily partnerships, relationships within the photojournalism community, and most significantly, building the prototype for the archive that we plan on launching in 2024. We did reach out to a dozen photojournalists who have agreed to participate in the project. They are and will benefit from the archive preserving their work, however that work is not available to the public yet. As executive director, I spoke to photojournalism students at the University of Missouri about our project and the need to preserve photojournalism. I also participated in a podcast with the National Press Photographers Association to publicize the project among members of the organizations.
