The Haystack Mountain School of Crafts offers workshops in a variety of craft based disciplines to participants of all skill levels as well as the two-week, open studio residency, a summer conference, and dedicated programs for Maine residents. The school maintains dedicated studio spaces for ceramics, glass, wood, fibers, metals, graphics, blacksmithing, and digital manufacturing. Noted American architect, Edward Larrabee Barnes, designed our award winning campus and the school attracts faculty and students from across the country and internationally. Roughly 500 students attend our core summer programs per year and nearly one quarter receive full financial aid. Approximately 30 people are employed by the school on a year-round and seasonal basis.
