Grantmaking Approach
The Health Foundation of Central MA applies a social determinants of health framework to guide its investments in nonprofit organizations working to improve health outcomes and address barriers to health equity that disproportionately impact people of color, those who are low-income, and/or reside in communities with limited infrastructure and resources in Central Massachusetts. The Foundation’s unique grantmaking approach involves learning about pressing and emerging health issues from the community (as opposed to defining priority issues on its own) and then providing technical assistance throughout all phases of the application process and grant period, which enables the Foundation to support organizations of varying sizes and capabilities.GeographiesWorcester County, MA, USA;Orange, MA, USA;Ware, MA 01082, USA;Palmer, MA, USA;Marlborough, MA, USA;Stow, MA, USA;Ashland, MA, USA;Holliston, MA, USA;Medway, MA 02053, USA;Hopkinton, MA, USA;Hudson, MA, USA;Bellingham, MA, USA;Boxborough, MA, USA;Littleton, MA, USA;Ayer, MA, USA;Shirley, MA, USA;Townsend, MA, USA;New Salem, MA, USA;Ashby, MA 01431, USADatesNot indicatedSourceUser-generatedHealth,Human services,Community and economic development,PhilanthropyAdults,Children and youth,Indigenous peoples,Multiracial people,People of African descent,People of Asian descent,People of European descent,People of Latin American descent,People of Middle Eastern descent,Women and girls,Men and boys,LGBTQ people,People with disabilities,People with diseases and illnesses,Pregnant people,Persons with substance use disorder(s),At-risk youth,Economically disadvantaged people,Immigrants and migrants,Incarcerated people,Nomadic people,Victims and oppressed people0–
