YouthBuild North Shore
YouthBuild is a community workforce development program designed to serve the needs of young adults aged between 16 and 24. Through YouthBuild, young people work towards their High School Equivalency Diploma, learn job skills, become certified pre-apprentice level construction workers where they serve their communities by building affordable housing or certified nursing assistants. Community Engagement provides residents with walk-in case management through our Family Success Program, which also includes English as Second Language (ESL) Classes, Free Tax Preparation, Employment Assistance, housing stability support, and COVID-19 relief. In addition, we provide intensive Voter Engagement outreach including poll monitoring and census support. North Shore CDC is highly active in neighborhood resident meetings, community resource meetings, and much more. Our programs are funded in part by the City of Salem, City of Peabody, Department of Planning and Community Development, and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. North Shore CDC’s Small Business Technical Assistance Program provides free one-on-one consulting and technical assistance services, with a focus on immigrant-, women- and minority-owned businesses. We offer technical assistance on marketing, financial analysis, customer analysis, digitization, funding resources, time management, and much more.
