    Strides in Reminiscing serves the needs of older adults in long term care and memory care. As dementia progresses, a sense of fear, isolation, and confusion can prevent people with memory loss from experiencing sensory stimulation in their everyday lives. Sensory stimulation can help people with dementia call up positive memories and emotions, and encourage them to communicate and engage with the people around them. Animal-assisted activities are associated with increased life satisfaction and decreased depression in older adults, including those with and without dementia or cognitive impairment. The farm, barn and rural setting create a rich sensory experience
