The YWCA of Brooklyn Inc., founded in 1888, is the oldest organization dedicated to serving women and girls in Brooklyn, focusing on eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. With an operating budget of $6.6 million and total revenue of $5.7 million, the organization provides 302 units of permanent, affordable housing for low-income and formerly homeless women, along with a college access and leadership development program for low-income girls, resources for immigrants, and a social justice community center.
