Family Home Visiting and Home Based Child Care Models
We engage early in life, helping toddlers and their parents access a path to possibility by: Reaching families and home based child care providers where they are: Families receive 92 twice-weekly 30-minute home visits to support healthy development and educational success. Providers receive 48 twice weekly visits, connections to community resources, and information for parents. Building trust: Our nationwide network of program sites hires community-based Early Learning Specialists (ELSs) who share a linguistic and cultural background with the families and providers with whom they work. Nationally, ~30% of ELSs are former program parents. Promoting parent-child interaction: ELSs provide families and providers with high quality learning tools and guidance to develop language, literacy, social-emotional skills, stimulate adult-child interaction, and build school readiness. Facilitating strong community connections: ELSs become trusted advisors, connecting families and home-based providers to other community resources including food, housing, medical and educational services.GeographiesUnited States;United Kingdom;Ireland;Chile;Canada;BermudaDatesNot indicatedSourceUser-generatedCommunity improvement,Early childhood education,Equal opportunity in education,Immigrants' rights,Child careAge groups,Ethnic and racial groups,Economically disadvantaged people,Immigrants and migrants21K–
