Water Access and Sanitation Program
Health Programs 1. Installed 435 (Goal 303) bio-sand water filters with trainings, which could be serving as many as 6,525 people, and conducted 8 group trainings on BSF and Hygiene. Total participants = 113 people. 2. Drilled 155 wells (Goal 60) with trainings, providing access to water to up to 2,325 villagers. 3. Built 121 latrines (Goal 27) for 121 selected families with sanitation and hygiene trainings, improving sanitation and safety for a minimum of 605 people, and conducted 2 training courses on latrines usage and hygiene. Food Security Program 1. Training Course: Conducted 51 courses on Integrated farming systems, Homestead garden training, Soil management training, Fertilizer and pesticide application techniques, Composting techniques training, Chicken raising training and practices. Benefited = 686 farmers. 2. Chicken Farms: Re-Established chicken farm I with 500 chicks in Kok Thmey village Donkev commune Pouk district. Provided the checken feed making machine, chicken feed, chicken medicine, Provided money for repairs to the chicken house and other things. Allowed other farmers to tour facility to gain training and better understanding of raising chickens. Selected a farmer to inherit the chicken farm projects from Chicken Farm I. 250 chicks were donated to this farmer in hopes that this person will be the local chicken supplier in the future. 3. Lvea Farmer Community Group: Established a farmer group village fund and savings. Added more soil, and restored ponds for water storage. Provided farming equipment and tools.
