Program 1 [2021]
Since its inception in 2006, Uplift Charity has been dedicated to serving families and individuals that are in dire financial situations by (a) providing emergency financial assistance and (b) creating a customized plan of action to achieve self-sufficiency. Every client that has followed the service plan has become self-sufficient, and many have become donors to Uplift Charity. In recent years, Uplift has had the privilege and heavy responsibility of being one of the first friendly faces a refugee family sees after arriving to their new home ? the United States. We make it our responsibility to uphold the expectation a family has of us ? to take them in with compassion and respect and make them feel like they now have a family in SoCal. In October of 2021, Uplift Charity was granted a program by the federal government to carry out refugee resettlement through the R&P program. Uplift will now be the first organization refugees will encounter when entering the United States through airports. Uplift will be responsible for finding refugees apartments, setting up their apartment, and signing up for services and benefits. Uplift Charity?s activities have either maintained or grown year over year: 1.Tutoring program primarily but not exclusively for refugee children 2.Food pantry distribution continues to grow to 400 families per distribution 3.We continued to gift vehicles to deserving families so they can securely get to work every morning, and return to their family every evening, without the anxiety of missed buses or delayed train schedules. 4.We continue to help families find jobs through our employment program and community partnerships. We have an exciting new endeavor on the job front which we hope to highlight this time next year. Nearly 250 families are assisted in an average month. These families are spread across virtually every city in Orange County, including the so-called wealthy cities. Additionally, we serve many cities in the counties of San Bernardino, Riverside, Los Angeles and even San Diego. Families learn about Uplift and are referred by more than 80 various organizations A few other notable programs that we continue to conduct each year include: 1.Summer Food Box program by which we distribute over 30 tons of food in a single weekend 2.Community Carnival at which families are able to mingle with one another in order to create a network of friends 3.Multiple events to feed the homeless 4.Multiple events to distribute essentials to homeless (hygiene kits, warm clothes, socks, beanies, blankets) 5.Dinner with the Homeless 6.Opportunities for health screeningsGeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2020 – Jun 30, 2021Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$1.3MUPLIFT Program
