Bainum Family Foundation requires applicants to complete an online grant application. The application can be accessed at www.bainumfdn.org. If organizations are unable to complete the online application they should contact the Grants Department staff by emailing [email protected] before applying. Applicants must attach the current budget for the entire organization and for the specific project, the most recent IRS Form 990 and independent audit report, and addresses for all current program site locations.

The following guidelines help to direct the Foundation's funding decisions within the Community Assistance Grants Program: The Foundation will only consider requests that address the education needs of disadvantaged children and youth. We are particularly interested in helping organizations that implement strategies that foster partnership building. We consider request for General Operating and Project specific support. Priority will be given to funding programs located in Washington, DC and Maryland. All programs must have a 501 (c)(3) private /public non-profit tax exempt status with the IRS. The maximum grant award under this program is $50,000. Organizations may submit a proposal for only one deadline within a 12 month period. Generally organizations that have received recent funding for 3 consecutive years must skip a year before re-applying.
