Environmental Advocacy and Education
Monitored and influenced the decisions and activities of the State Government in Montana as well as Federal and local governments that affected the State of Montana and Montanans right to a clean and healthful environment. MEICs 10 staff and volunteers met with, talked to and wrote letters to government officials in preparation for the 2025 legislative session. Our members wrote and had published over 45 OpEds in local, regional and sometimes nation news outlets. MEIC continued to educate individuals about environmental issues, and their constitutional rights, affecting the State of Montana and its citizens. MEIC printed and distributed quarterly newsletters to our members and made copies of them available to over 11,500 interested parties and organizations. In addition, MEIC sent out over 23 action alerts and emails to over 6820 individuals. Continued to support other non-profit organizations and individuals address areas of local concern.
