Youth Organizing
Youth MOJO engages second generation Chinese and Asian American high school youth in intensive leadership development while exploring and developing confidence in their identities. The program equips youth with leadership and life skills through engaging in a year-round civic project that includes an in-depth study of community issues, developing and testing youth-led solutions, conducting community outreach and engagement with peers and community leaders, along with regular reflection and evaluation on their personal growth and impact of their project on the community. In tandem with the project, youth will also engage in cross-cultural and intergenerational exchanges to explore their identities, build solidarity with other communities, practice collective storytelling decision making, engage in healing practices to develop resilience coping strategies that support their mental health.GeographiesSan Francisco, CA, USADatesNot indicatedSourceUser-generatedYouth organizingYoung adults,Adolescents,Asian American/of Asian descent,Low-income people,Working poor,Immigrants––Tenant Worker Center
