Theological Education and Broadcasting Initiatives
Promotion of Christian theological education and scholarship through the establishment and operation of the following activities:Educational Broadcasting - The Organization produces and broadcasts audio and video theological lectures, sermons, and interviews over terrestrial radio airwaves, digital satellite signals, and streaming through podcasts and various online channels and web properties. During 2017, the Organization broadcasted through purchased airtime from 380 terrestrial radio stations with more than 120 additional transmitter signals and 1 satellite radio network. Videos air on NRBTV (DIRECTV Channel 378) and are also available via Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Prime. The Organization also hosted five podcast channels, which aired over 650 episodes and saw over 10 million downloads, and began work on a Spanish-language podcast. Our podcasts are currently available on all the major platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Google Music, Spotify, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, and Stitcher.Educational Materials - The Organization develops and produces print, audio, and video theological and Biblical educational materials. Printed theological and educational materials from Reformation Trust are available in various formats (paperback, hardcover, special editions), and many are being translated into several languages. Charitable outreaches help make these materials available in prisons, on military bases, and across Africa.Monthly Magazine - The Organization prints and distributes approximately 100,000 copies of Tabletalk magazine each month. Tabletalk includes a Bible study for each day and thought-provoking articles from well-known reformed scholars. In 2017, the Organization also launched TabletalkMagazine.com to provide subscribers with digital access and additional online-only content.Educational Conferences - The Organization provides face-to-face theological instruction with prominent speakers at various venues. During 2017, the Organization conducted seven major conferences, seven smaller leadership conferences, and four tours/cruises where a variety of speakers provided theological lectures. The Organization also hosted its first event in Continental Europe. Over 9,000 individuals attended these events.Music Production and Performance - The Organization produces and sells recorded music of classic hymn variety compositions that cohere to and further express the theological truths taught on CD, as digital downloads, and in the form of sheet music. In 2017, the Organization also conducted one concert featuring newly released music. Over 1,000 individuals attended these concerts.Online Learning - The Organization provides daily theological educational videos, audio content, articles, and columns through Ligonier.org. In 2017, over 6.3 million unique users accessed over 49.7 million pages of content. The Organization also offers 75+ interactive video courses taught by trusted teachers through its online learning platform, Ligonier Connect. Ligonier Connect offers non-degree certificates, primarily serving laypeople. Courses are accessible through an internet browser and Apple and Android apps. During 2017, over 5,000 people participated in the courses.
