Area Agency on Aging Services
Area Agency on Aging - Provides assessment and care management services, in-home support services, adult day care, senior protection and advocacy, and senior center services. It also provides volunteer opportunities through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and the Foster Grandparent Program. During the year the AAA provided assessments and care management for 3,813 clients, provided in-home services for 2,932 clients, domiciliary care for 15 clients, and senior protection and advocacy services for 2,032 clients. The senior centers served 708 seniors and served 2,920 clients with its Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program. Education, Workforce and Self Sufficiency - Division administers programs in line with the Agencies philosophy to promote personal advancement through education and employment opportunities. Executive Program - Provided 112 scholarships to families of children enrolled in grades K-12 to assist them in attending a school of their choice. Donations were made available through the Commonwealth of PA Tax Credit Program. Family Action Teams are group mentoring experiences that are designed to help individual families make plans and move from dependency to self-sufficiency. The Agency provided assistance to 12 families through this project. Provided Re-Entry and Poverty Simulation services to 144 and 121 clients respectively.
