    In 2020, in the middle of the COVID pandemic, church and organization partners of World Without Orphans (WWO) Regional Learning Communities trained and mentored a total of 1,358 national organizations and churches and 6109 leaders.? WWO Regional Ambassadors, through the 16 organizations they each lead in their own nations, also served a total 16,281 children and 9,235 families with one or more intervention or prevention strategies and/or programs in the WWO Roadmap. Research demonstrates that the use of these evidence-based approaches provided through implementation of key programs and policies from the WWO Roadmap, has led to the following impacts for children: -Increases in kinship care, foster care and adoption for children living outside family care, including those in orphanages and on the streets-Reductions in sexual abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse, and in bullying-Reductions in personal anxiety and trauma associated with such abuse(Cont)

  • Leadership Training for Child Welfare

    IN 2023, WWO'S GLOBAL AND REGIONAL TEAMS IN SOUTH ASIA, AFRICA, LATIN AMERICA AND EUROPE EQUIPPED 869 LEADERS THOURGH VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON TRAININGS. THOSE LEADERS REPORTED THAT THEY ARE REACHING AT LEAST 5,622 NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND CHURCHES AND 10,225 LEADERS, 60,147 PARENTS OR CAREGIVERS AND 295,716 CHILDREN IN 56 COUNTRIES. RESEARCH DEMONSTRATES THAT THE USE OF THESE EVIDENCE-BASED APPROACHES PROVIDED THROUGH IMPLEMENTATION OF KEY PROGRAMS AND POLICIES FROM THE WWO ROADMAP, HAS LED TO THE FOLLOWING IMPACTS FOR CHILDREN: - INCREASES IN KINSHIP CARE, FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION FOR CHILDREN LIVING OUTSIDE FAMILY CARE, INCLUDING THOSE IN ORPHANAGES AND ON THE STREETS. - REDUCTIONS IN SEXUAL ABUSE, PHYSICAL ABUSE, AND EMOTIONAL ABUSE, AND IN BULLYING. - REDUCTIONS IN PERSONAL ANXIETY AND TRAUMA ASSOCIATED WITH SUCH ABUSE.
