Program 1 [2020]
FOOD & NUTRITION Providing Food and Promoting Healthy Eating Habits through: The MINT Food Pantry decrease the number of people suffering from food insecurities, supplement household food budget, improve health, and develop healthy eating habits. Uplift Saturdays provides food for those in need every 1st and 3rd Saturday. Uplift Saturdays is a food distribution partnership with Melville Family Foundation, Uplift Education, Albertsons, and Pepsico. In 2020, we provided 1,289,934 pounds of food to 7,697 low income families during the pandemic. Senior Feeding Program: The MINT Foundation provides healthy, nutritious meals to seniors in the southern sector of Dallas County. Objectives - Increase the nutrient intake of older individuals who might not eat adequately, and, through better nutrition, assist them to remain healthy and independent in their communities. Education & Mentoring Ensuring students and young adults are equipped for success. The MINT Foundation does this through C MINT After School Program that helps promote students to next grade level and be on academic path for graduation. We also assist high school students matriculate to college, and ensure they are school and work ready. ESTEAM Summer Camp provide opportunities for kids to have a deeper understanding of STEAM content, increase/maintain grade level, avoid summer learning loss, promote STEAM related career field in the future. College/Career Readiness The MINT Foundation provide low income youth with the opportunity to lean life skills, enhance their financial knowledge, and support their pursuit of a college degree or long-term employment through curriculum based training. THE MINT CARES Financial Assistance Program has partnered with the City of DeSoto, the City of Dallas, and The United Way Metropolitan Dallas to provide rental and utility assistance for households whose income has been impacted by COVID-19. Qualified applicants must meet certain geographic and income criteria to be authorized for funding. All documents must be submitted with every application before any decision can be determined.
