Power, Protection & Encouragement Program
Blueprint NC originally launched our Power, Protection & Encouragement (PP&E) program in 2020 to layer in community safety and security into poll-monitoring programs. We continued and expanded this program in 2022 to elevate safety at the ballot box as a priority among our table partners.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$1.2MVoter Engagement Initiative

Throughout 2021, we worked to pinpoint the home-grown North Carolina roots of the violence at the Capitol during the January 6, 2021 insurrection. We underlined their connections to law enforcement, far-Right elected officials, and known bad actors (of the anti-abortion, anti-Semitic and neo-confederate intersections). Our ad hoc working group tracking far-Right danger to polling places, poll workers, and Black and brown communities became the launching pad for a new program to track dangerous extremists. The resulting North Carolina Anti-Racist Research Collaborative will increase our network's capacity for community-based safety solutions and pro-democratic campaigns and actions.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$225K
