Forever Homes Adoption Program
The League shelters and cares for approximately 80 cats and 40 dogs at anytime. Our goal is to find all the animals in our care their Forever Homes. In 2023, 1,840 pets were taken in resulting in 1,758 adoptions; 1,347 cats and 411 dogs. All cats adopted receive micro-chipping, vaccination, vet check-up, testing for feline leukemia and FIV and spay/neutering. Wellness Clinic which provides veterinary care for shelter animals, other area shelters and rescues and ultimately the community at large. A total of 2,450 spay/neuter surgeries were performed (729 dogs, 1,721 cats). We vaccinated 436 pets. Our unique None Left Behind (NLB) program helps reduce barriers to adoption of special-needs pets. This includes animals with chronic medical conditions, behavioral issues, advanced age or simply a significantly-long tenure in our shelter.
