CANDLES Museum Tours
CANDLES operates a museum facility that hosts some 10,000 visitors per year from all over the United States. The majority of our visitors are middle, high school, and college students. Visitors participate in an interactive tour with a survivor or docent. CANDLES administers educational travel programs to the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland as well as other places, such as Romania and Hungary. The tours are led by survivors and scholars who offer immersive, intensive study tours of places with historical ties to the Holocaust, genocides, and other human rights crises. Our tours attract participants from all over the USA and internationally and from all walks of life. Our film and speaker series brings survivors of genocide, award-winning filmmakers, scholars, and human rights advocates to speak with students, educators and community members.
