Cascades Senior Housing Project
THE CASCADES PHASE 1 BROKE GROUND IN AUGUST OF 2024 AND WILL RESULT IN EIGHT UNITS OF RENTAL HOUSING SERVING SENIORS OF LOW-INCOME. THE $2.3 MILLION PROJECT WAS 7.5% COMPLETE BY THE END OF 2024, INCLUDING SITE CLEARING AND GRADING, POURING FOUNDATIONS, AND INSTALLING ROUGH PLUMBING. YEARS IN THE MAKING, PHASE 1 WAS FUNDED BY OHIO HOUSING TRUST FUND DOLLARS THROUGH THE OHIO HOUSING FINANCE AGENCY, THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES, THE VILLAGE OF YELLOW SPRINGS, THE FEDERAL HOME LOAN BANK OF CINCINNATI, WRIGHT PATT CREDIT UNION, THE OHIO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FINANCE FUND, CENTERPOINT ENERGY FOUNDATION, THE DAYTON FOUNDATION, AND YELLOW SPRINGS HOME, INC. MORE THAN 300 HOUSEHOLDS ARE ON THE RENTAL INTEREST LIST, EVIDENCING PENT-UP DEMAND. FUNDRAISING FOR PHASE 2, SIX UNITS, WAS ALSO UNDERWAY IN 2024. SITE DEVELOPMENT FINANCING WAS PROVIDED THROUGH THE NATIONAL HOUSING TRUST TO BUILD OUT INFRASTRUCTURE SERVING ALL FOUR PROJECT PHASES, A TOTAL OF 32 UNITS.
