Programs
Project Dream, Own, Tell (DOT)
Project DOT is a youth development program that empowers young people as leaders in preventing sexual violence. DOT’s interactive curriculum addresses the unique challenges faced by young people from gender, racial, and ethnically marginalized communities across New York City. In partnership with community-based organizations, we educate and engage youth between the ages of 10-24 to challenge harmful narratives that enable sexual violence.GeographiesNew York, NY, USADatesNot indicatedSourceUser-generatedYouth peer mentoring,Youth organizing,Youth servicesChildren and youth,Ethnic and racial groups,LGBTQ people,Boys,Girls,Immigrants200–OutSmartNYC
OutSmartNYC works to make nightlife safer for all New Yorkers. We do this by preventing sexual violence in nightlife and entertainment spaces and promoting a nightlife culture where all New Yorkers are safe to connect and enjoy a night out. This includes nightlife venue training, ongoing education and technical assistance, event support, community organizing, and referrals to supportive services. OutSmartNYC is a collaborative effort between The Alliance and Crime Victims Treatment Center (CVTC) alongside nightlife community members.GeographiesNew York, NY, USADatesNot indicatedSourceUser-generatedCommunity organizingEthnic and racial groups,Gender and sexual identity,Immigrants and migrants60K–Campus Programs
The Alliance’s Campus Programs address sexual violence on college campuses by partnering with students and faculty to create safer, more inclusive environments. This means that we provide comprehensive education through workshops and trainings, foster student engagement and leadership, and create safety and inclusion through policy support and resource development.GeographiesNew York, NY, USADatesNot indicatedSourceUser-generatedCommunity improvementEthnic and racial groups,Gender and sexual identity,Economically disadvantaged people,Immigrants and migrants2K–
