Program 1 [2020]
HEALTHY LIVING: We kept our focus on providing enriching family activities at all of our branches. Even with the COVID-caused service interruptions, the readers of NEO Parent Magazine again voted the Y as the Parent's Choice Award - #1 for Family Fitness, 2020. We launched a free, communitywide program along with other Ys that helped get people active and engaged with others. Nearly 1,000 people joined us. When fitness centers were closed by the State, our Y stood up virtual programming in a matter of days. We provided the offering for free to everyone in 2020, including online workouts, family activities and wellness programming. We weren't just providing programming, we were fighting COVID-spawned isolation, a devastating threat to our community. The site got tens of thousands of visits in 2020.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$11.5MProgram 2 [2020]
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Y-HAVEN: Y-Haven provides temporary housing, Substance Use Disorder treatment, and a host of other critical services to women and men who are homeless, re-entering the community from incarceration and seeking to recover from Opioid Use Disorder. Y-Haven worked to reduce the likelihood of overdose in the client population through the provision of safe housing, high-quality treatment, vocational support, and other needed services. In 2020, Y-Haven served 665 individuals and housed 564. Of those, 61% completed IOP treatment, 37% were employed (less those receiving SSI in engaged in Intensive Outpatient Treatment) and 65% obtained permanent housing. COMMUNITY SERVICE: Members and branches addressed food insecurity during 2020. Nearly 200,000 pounds of food was provided through our branches. Members contributed clothing and toiletry items Y-Haven while the Y's Teen Cafe program gave teens a safe place and enriching programing to build confidence and leadership skills. Over $670,000 in scholarship support was provided to individuals and families without the means to cover the costs of YMCA memberships and/or special programs.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$3.6MProgram 3 [2020]
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: PANDEMIC CHILD CARE: We immediately provided pandemic child care for essential workers, at a loss to us, but as a benefit to our community. Our pandemic child care served 128 children of essential workers, safely, with Y-quality enrichment programming. REOPENED CHILD CARE: Once reopened, we provided Y-Cares Child Enrichment Centers that had to be remarkably flexible as school districts oscillated on in-school, at-home learning throughout 2020. We give great credit to our staff who responded to every twist and turn. Results: Total Children served, 1,532; Total Families served, 1,223; School Age served, 1,418; Preschool children served, 114. CAMP: After a remarkable academic year, our Youth Development quickly transitioned to summer camp (day camp, sports camp, fine arts camp) where we provided safe and healthy enrichment experiences for more than 400 children from Avon to Chardon.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$3.2M
