PROVIDENCE HOUSE IS TRULY UNIQUE IN ITS MISSION AND PHILOSOPHY IN OUR SERVICE AREA, AND IS RECOGNIZED AS A NATIONAL LEADER IN CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION, FAMILY PRESERVATION, AND ALTERNATIVE RESPONSE TO FOSTER CARE. WE ARE A LICENSED CHILDREN'S CRISIS CARE FACILITY BY THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF JOBS AND FAMILY SERVICES UNDER AM.S.B.258 WITH SUBSEQUENT MODIFICATIONS THROUGH S.B.242 AND OHIO REVISED CODE 5101:2-5 AND 5101:2-9, CARF ACCREDITED, A OMHAS CERTIIED COMMUNITY BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROVIDER, AND WE RECENTLY BECAME AN OHIO MEDICAID PROVIDER TYPE 84-BEHAVIORAL HEALTH. OUR ORGANIZATION IS ALSO RANKED AS A GUIDESTAR PLATINUM AND CHARITY NAVIGATOR 4-STAR NONPROFIT, WHICH ARE THE HIGHEST RATINGS POSSIBLE FROM THESE NONPROFIT MONITORING ORGANIZATIONS. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)IN FISCAL YEAR 2017-2018, 925 INQUIRIES FOR CHILDREN'S ADMISSIONS WERE RECEIVED, 343 QUALIFIED FOR ADMISSION, AND 323 CHILDREN, NEWBORN TO 12 YEARS OLD WERE ADMITTED AND RECEIVED NEARLY 6,000 DAYS OF CRISIS CARE. ADDITIONALLY, 167 CAREGIVERS FROM NEARLY 30 ZIP CODES IN NORTHEAST OHIO FROM PRIMARILY ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED FAMILIES WERE SERVED. OF THE CHILDREN WHO CAME TO PROVIDENCE HOUSE: -40% HAD A CAREGIVER WHO LACKED RESOURCES TO MEET BASIC NEEDS -32% WERE HOMELESS OR HAD UNSAFE HOUSING -18% HAD A FAMILY MEMBER WITH A MEDICAL CRISIS -10% HAD A CAREGIVER WITH A MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS -7% WERE VICTIMS OF OR WITNESS TO VIOLENCEFAMILIES IN POVERTY: -96% OF FAMILIES SUPPORTED LIVE AT OR BELOW THE FEDERAL POVERTY LINE. -THE AVERAGE ANNUAL INCOME OF THE FAMILIES UTILIZING OUR SERVICES IS LESS THAN $10,000 A YEAR. -31% OF THE FAMILIES SERVED LAST YEAR REPORTED NOT HAVING RECEIVED ANY CASH INCOME IN THE PREVIOUS MONTH.FAMILIES WITH HISTORY OF TRAUMA AND VIOLENCE: 20% OF OUR PARENTS AND 24% OF OUR CHILDREN HAVE EXPERIENCED SIGNIFICANT TRAUMA AND VIOLENCE PRIOR TO RECEIVING OUR SERVICES. -95% EXPERIENCED DOMESTIC VIOLENCE -36% EXPERIENCED BULLYING -27% EXPERIENCED PHYSICAL ASSAULT OR ABUSE -21% EXPERIENCED STALKING OR HARASSMENTOUR UNIQUE TWO-GENERATION CRISIS NURSERY MODEL IS AN EFFECTIVE AND PROVEN EARLY INTERVENTION RESOURCES WHICH CAN STRENGTHEN AND PRESERVE FAMILIES AND HELP CHILDREN ACHIEVE THEIR OPTIMUM POTENTIAL THROUGHOUT THEIR LIVES. SAVINGS: LESS COSTLY THAN FOSTER CARE, VICTIM TREATMENT SERVICES, AND LONG-TERM HEALTHCARE COSTS - EST. OVER $8MIL SAVINGS ANNUALLY FOR CUYAHOGA COUNTY. CHILD/FAMILY ATTACHMENT: AVERAGE LENGTH OF STAY: 24 DAYS AT PH VS. 240 DAYS STATE AVERAGE IN FOSTER CARE. 99% OF PARENTS REPORT THAT THEIR BOND WITH THEIR CHILD STAYED THE SAME OR IMPROVED DURING THEIR CHILD'S ADMISSION IN OUR CRISIS NURSERIES. FAMILY PRESERVATION AND STABILITY: 99% CHILDREN WERE REUNITED WITH THEIR PARENT OR CAREGIVER AFTER STAYING AT PROVIDENCE HOUSE AND 90% OF PARENTS ENGAGED WITH RECOMMENDED PARTICIPATION IN VISITATION, CASE MANAGEMENT, AND SUPPORT SESSIONS. CLOSES THE RACIAL DISPROPORTIONALITY DIVIDE: A STUDY FOUND THAT MINORITY FAMILIES (AFRICAN AMERICAN/MULTI-RACIAL) ARE LEAST LIKELY TO HAVE THEIR CHILDREN PLACED IN FOSTER CARE FOLLOWING PH SERVICES VS. CAUCASIAN FAMILIES. FOR NEARLY 41 YEARS, PROVIDENCE HOUSE HAS BEEN DEDICATED TO PROVIDING CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY WITH PROVEN PROTECTION AND SUPPORT SO THEY CAN REUNITE SAFER, STRONGER, AND WITH MORE STABILITY. ON OUR 30 BED CAMPUS (20 BEDS IN OUR CRISIS NURSERY AND 10 BEDS IN OUR PEDIATRIC CRISIS NURSERY), CHILDREN, AGED NEWBORN THROUGH TWELVE, FIND SAFETY AND COMFORT IN A HOME-LIKE SETTING WHILE WE COORDINATE AND CONNECT FAMILIES TO PARTNER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO STABILIZE THEIR CRISES, IMPROVE PARENTING SKILLS, AND PRESERVE THE FAMILY OR FIND ALTERNATIVE LONG-TERM CARE FOR CHILDREN. IN RECENT YEARS, PROVIDENCE HOUSE HAS EXPANDED THE SERVICES WE PROVIDE TO FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY WHO DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE CHILDREN STAYING IN OUR CAMPUS. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)IN FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022, 741 CHILDREN AND FAMILIES WERE SERVED BETWEEN ALL OF OUR PROGRAMS. FAMILIES TURN TO PROVIDENCE HOUSE WHEN THEY ARE EXPERIENCING CRISES THAT MAY PUT THEIR CHILDREN AT RISK OF ABUSE OR NEGLECT TO RECEIVE CRITICAL SUPPORT DURING THEIR TIME OF NEED. LAST YEAR IN OUR CRISIS NURSERIES, 170 CHILDREN WERE ADMITTED INTO OUR CARE AND PROVIDED WITH 3,068 DAYS OF CARE (157 CHILDREN WERE SERVED THROUGH OUR TRADITIONAL SERVICES AND 13 WERE SERVED THROUGH OUR EMERGENCY PLACEMENT PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DIVISION OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES). ADDITIONALLY, FAMILIES FROM THROUGHOUT THE GREATER CLEVELAND AREA PARTICIPATED IN OUR FAMILY PRESERVATION SERVICES DURING THEIR CHILD'S STAY WHICH INCLUDED 687 PARENT VISITS, 321 REFERRALS FOR ADDITIONAL SERVICES, 616 CASE MANAGEMENT CONTACT HOURS, 189 PARENT SUPPORT SESSIONS AND 162 BUS PASSES TO HELP WITH ACCESSING SERVICES. THROUGH OUR UNIQUE, MULTI-GENERATIONAL CRISIS NURSERY MODEL, 99% OF CHILDREN WERE REUNITED WITH THEIR PARENT OR GUARDIAN AND 97% OF FAMILIES WERE FULLY ENGAGED IN RECOMMENDED VISITATION, CASE MANAGEMENT, AND SUPPORT SESSIONS. IN ADDITION, 34 FAMILIES PARTICIPATED IN OUR VOLUNTARY TWELVE MONTH AFTERCARE PROGRAM, INCLUDING WEEKLY GROUP PARENT EDUCATION AND INDIVIDUAL CASE MANAGEMENT SUPPORT. LAST YEAR WE REACHED AN ADDITIONAL 177 FAMILIES WORKING WITH PARTNER AGENCIES WITH 662 BASIC NEED ITEMS WITH OUR COMMUNITY REFERRAL PROGRAM. THROUGH OUR COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND RESILIENCY PROGRAM, 35 FAMILIES RECEIVED INDIVIDUALIZED CASE MANAGEMENT, GROUP PARENT EDUCATION AND TRAUMA SERVICES DELIVERED ON LOCATION AT PARTNER AGENCIES TO PREVENT OR DEESCALATE CRISIS.PROVIDENCE HOUSE IS PRIMARILY FUNDED THROUGH PRIVATE DONATIONS FROM FOUNDATIONS, CORPORATIONS, INDIVIDUALS, AND GOVERNMENT GRANTS, AND CHARGES NO FEES FOR THE SERVICES PROVIDED TO FAMILIES.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2021 – Jun 30, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$3.4M
