Hult Center Health Education Programs
The Hult Center for Healthy Living is a nonprofit organization within the Greater Peoria West Region of the Carle Health System. The Hult Center provides health education to people of all ages. The core health education curriculum consists of Mental Health and Social-Emotional Learning, Reproductive and Sexual Health, and overall general health including focus on Oral Health, Nutrition and Physical Fitness, Lung Health and Tobacco-Free Spaces. The Hult Center served 29,609 youth in health education programs for 2024. 11,483 children participated in mental health and social-emotional education. 772 people participated in suicide prevention education and training. 1,998 pre-K children and adults participated in Social-Emotional Learning with 116 adults being certified in the evidence based QPR-Question Persuade and Refer Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training. 2,889 students received substance use education and 462 adults received tobacco-free prevention education. 638 students received asthma awareness education and we distributed 500 asthma education kits to youth and adolescents. In our Reproductive and Sexual Health education programs 5,198 students received health education focusing on Human Reproduction and Pregnancy; Condoms for prevention; Testing for HIV and STIs and we provided specialized programming for students with special needs. 2,252 students received puberty education. In attempts to education and empower adolescents, 1,771 high school students participated in programming focused on Navigating Healthcare; Accessing Adolescent-Friendly Healthcare; Family Health History and teaching students how to transition from Pediatric to Adult Healthcare. The WELL, Wellness Education and Lifestyle Learning, program which targets youth ages 8-18 who are identified as at risk for type 2 diabetes saw over 200 referrals with 500 plus hours of health coaching and 7 local schools were established as health coaching locations for our health education coaching.
