Programs
Program 1 [2020]
Ronald McDonald House Program: As its core program, RMHC owns and operates the Ronald McDonald House of Bismarck which provides temporary housing for the families of seriously ill children receiving medical treatment at the local medical facilities. Families are asked to contribute $20/night for their stay, but no one is turned away for inability to pay. The House serves pediatric patients and their families, age 0-18.In a typical year, the House serves approximately 150 families for a total of 1,700 room nights, but 2020 was not a typical year. Due to COVID 19, the RMHouse was forced to close operations on March 27, 2020 and did not re-open again until April of 2021. In 2020 we only served 10 families for a total of 304 room nights.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$218.5KProgram 2 [2020]
Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Program: The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is a state of the art mobile dental clinic that brings oral health care to underserved children in their own neighborhoods. The program serves children age 0-21 who do not have a regular dentist or who have not seen a dentist in the past two years. RMHC-Bismarck contracts with Bridging the Dental Gap to provide the dental services. We bill insurance when possible, but no child is turned away for inability to pay.Due to COVID19, the Care Mobile and the School Based Sealant (SBS) programs were both suspended on March 16th when the schools were closed in the state. The Care Mobile initially reopened at 50% capacity in July 2020, but the SBS programs remains suspended. Our goal for 2020 was to treat at least 1,000 children, but due to the pandemic we were only able to treat 834 children at 31 sites. We feel that this was a remarkable accomplishment considering the situation.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$499.9KProgram 3 [2020]
RMHC School Based Sealant Program:The RMHC School Based Sealant (SBS) Program normally operates in tandem with the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Program, however, it was also suspended once the schools closed in March of 2020. Prior to the COVID19 suspension, we treated 186 children. The SBS program remains suspended, and its future is very uncertain. The public schools welcomed the free-standing Care Mobile back, but they have been reluctant to allow out-side programs to come into the schools at this time. In the interim, the Care Mobile has been providing SBS services in the affected schools.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$8.3K
