Mission Statement
SNAP IS AN INDEPENDENT PEER NETWORK OF SURVIVORS OF INSTITUTIONAL SEXUAL ABUSE AND THEIR SUPPORTERS. WE SUPPORT SURVIVORS THROUGH PEER SUPPORT GROUPS, ONE-ON-ONE MEETINGS WITH LOCAL LEADERS, AND GENERAL SUPPORT WITH OUR HOTLINE. WITH OVER 120 VOLUNTEER LEADERS, WE HOST OUR SUPPORT GROUPS FOR SURVIVORS BOTH IN THE US AND ABROAD. IN ADDITION TO OUR SUPPORT SERVICES ALSO PROVIDE ADVOCACY AND OUTREACH SERVICES TO HELP CHANGE LAWS THAT WILL BETTER PROTECT CHILDREN AND SUPPORT ALL SURVIVORS OF ABUSE. IN 2020, WE MADE SEVERAL SIGNIFICANT STRIDES INTO BECOMING A PART OF THE WIDER ABUSE PREVENTION MOVEMENT BY JOINING ANDTAKING LEADERSHIP ROLES IN SEVERAL LARGE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COALITIONS IN ORDER TO AMPLIFY OUR WORK, ENSURE THE VOICE OF SURVIVORS IS CENTERED IN HIGH LEVEL CONVERSATIONS, AND SHARE RESOURCES AND INFORMATION WITH OTHER GROUPS. SNAP WAS A LEADER IN THE "SURVIVOR'S AGENDA - CHILDHOOD SEXUAL ABUSE" COALITION, WORKING TO INCLUDE THE PERSPECTIVES AND EXPERIENCES OF CSA SURVIV
