Los Angeles Green Space Development
The Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust focuses efforts exclusively in communities that have little to no access to green space. We engage residents from the beginning of our design process through construction and ultimately the stewardship of the parks and gardens we develop. Since 2002, we have opened 30 parks and gardens and added over 22 acres of new green space to Los Angeles County which serve 500,000 people annually.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2023 – Jun 30, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$3.1MLeadership Development in Urban Gardening
In addition to building parks and gardens, we produce leadership development programs. The Gardening Apprenticeship Program prepares South Los Angeles high school students to be the next generation of urban gardeners, land stewards, and community health advocates. The Park Equity Leadership Academy fosters park equity advocacy and increases residents' civic engagement. Community members participate in and advocate for regional policy efforts and engage in local campaigns to address issues impacting their neighborhoods.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2023 – Jun 30, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$1.1M
