Service Accomplishments 1 Invited to host events as part of two locally originated nationally aired programs on race. Developed a feature video, Conversations on Race 2 Produced two reports Racial Equity Highlights and Examining and Addressing COVID Racial Disparities in Detroit 3 Offered a series of virtual panels comprising local and national leaders addressing topical issues that primarily related to the COVID pandemic. Attendance ranged from about 50 to more than 400 per event 4 Restructured its muticultural leadership program into leadership series on RACE as a mission-based fee service program featuring local and national expert instructors educating participants on critical issues and helping them develop racial equity action plans and 5 Developed the Just Institute to provide industry specific training. Thought Leadership & Advocacy - The corporations second annual just lead: Advancing Racial Equity conference brought together 220 participants representing a cross section of leadership and viewpoints and included speakers on the business case for DEI, Nikole Hannah-Jones, and interactive workshops. Corporation staff spoke at United Nations, national news programs, and local television, and wrote OpEds on racial equity. Education - The corporation offered a series of virtual and in-person town hall panels comprising local and national leaders addressing topical issues, such as disability justice and racism as a public health crisis, with a total attendance of just over 300.
